words don't mean much

I am not sure if you know about the 5 Love Languages. A couple of years back, my ex-cell leaders made us do a Love Language Test to let us discover what were our main forms of receiving and giving love. The five are:

- words of affirmation (that means you value what people say or write to you, i.e cards, spoken words)

- quality time (you spend time with loved ones; they being there for you is of importance)

- gifts (it's not materialistic, but you value the thought and effort behind every thing you received)

- acts of service (you show your appreciation for someone by doing something for him or her, like running an errand)

- physical touch (Hugs, pats on the back, holding hands, and thoughtful touches on the arm, shoulder, or face—they can all be ways to show excitement, concern, care, and love)

Back then, Acts of Service reigned high on the list. I re-did the test today and Quality Time topped. In a sense, it is true. To me, I appreciate it when loved ones and friends take time out to be with me physically or virtually. In the same way, this is how I walk the talk. I mean after all, it takes time and effort to know someone right?

I guess yea, after a while, I know who are the people and friends that matter in my life. Those that bothered to make me smile, those that help me to curse all the horrible people I'd met, those that encouraged me, those that stood by me, those that scolded me for my good, those who participate in crazy things with me, those that truly bothered about me. And this is how I show my love to those who mattered to.

I'm actually tired of trying to fit in because, I honestly do not have the energy to do so. That's why I've been drifting in and out, being so reclusive. It takes more effort to fake enthusiasm and happiness then ... to clear Ah Mao's pungent shit.

Anyways, what made me wrote about the love language was this video that I had came across. It showed me that love is more than just words, but really truly doing something for the one you love and to be there for her. Chris Medina wrote this song as an ode to his paralyzed fiancee. He is one extinct good man. I hope their love lasts. Really.

What are words
If you really don't mean them
When you say them
What are words
If they're only for good times

-Chris Medina "What Are Words"

So damn true.
