Saturday, December 04, 2010  Actually, I think there's a kid inside you and me. While we need to act our age and take on responsibilities that is fitting for a twenty-two year old, there are times where we need to let the kid inside us see the world. Because, sometimes the kid might see more. I'm bored to tears at work. But then again, I am happy that I can use work as an excuse to bump off unwanted attention. Not that I am running away unintentionally, it's just that after so many years, I'm tired of explaining and conforming. What I went through may not be the worst, but it was the worst for me. And my life buoys weren't them. Push me some more and I'll burst right into flames before you. The last installment of Chronicles of Narnia was a pretty good film. I liked the fact that the director filmed it in a way where even non-Narnia fans are able to sit through the 115 minutes and understand the story. I'm your everyday crass peasant but I still think C.S. Lewis is a genius for weaving all the basic Christian principles into this book without being too preachy. I mean, they are also basic morals for living - not giving in to temptations, staying strong...the usual drill. But how strong are we, really? Whether you believe in saying Amen or lighting joss sticks or fasting for Ramadam, are we really practicing what we would love to preach?  I wish Aslan was real. I wish Prince Caspian existed. I wish I could scream "For Narnia" with gusto without feeling embarrassed. -takes a deep breath- FOR NARNIA! i can only do it here. |
