Thursday, July 15, 2010  I like the idea of travelling because not only I get the chance to snap nice photos and post them on Facebook, I relish in the fact that each time I get my mind out of Singapore, I return with a fresh perspective and become a step closer in attaining Nirvana. I mean but of course, each time I book myself a ticket out of Singapore, there is always a certain goal to achieve. Like to keep people out of my mind and to take a break from work. Chet Lam has a song called, “离开是为了回来”. True, I am leaving because I want to return.  So yes Hong Kong was fanstastic. I always knew I loved Hong Kong and when I was there 2002, I knew very well that I want to go back there to take in the sights. When I went there in 2006, I knew that I want to go back again to shop. When I went there in 2009, I made a pact to myself that the next time when I return to HK, I do not want it to be a healing journey. When I travelled this year, it was not a healing journey as per se, it was more like soul enrichment. And I am more than certain that I really want to live and work there for a short period of time. My love for Hong Kong goes beyond the superficiality of shopping and eating. But of course, with NDP coming up, I have to declare the fact that I have immense pride in being a Singaporean. I am just crossing my fingers that this dream will come true.  Because this dream of working and living in Hong Kong seems more attainable then say, finding love or being on the Dean's list. 16 months of education later, I wanna be on a plane to Hong Kong! -winks- |
