i dont know you
Friday, April 30, 2010  This morning when I opened up my Firefox, the first news i saw on my Yahoo! homepage was that of a Singaporean girl. Her name is Melissa Toh. And honestly, I dont know who is she. I have never met her before and I doubt we will meet again. Perhaps we may have brushed past each other on the streets since Singapore is so dirt small. But we dont know each other, anyhow. I dont know why she committed suicide. And I am probably not as affected as her friends by her sudden decision to leave this place. But I dont know why I feel this sense of grief all over me. The curiosity in me convicted me to search for her blog and read her entries. While her words are cryptic, I feel this odd sense of melancholy dripping over in each entry. I wonder who hurt her. I wonder what made her so sad. But I guess for me, this sadness will pass. For the lives she has touched, her absence will always be a void that can never be filled. Sometimes, perhaps, living life like a masquerade, you get through each day easier. I am not saying to escape the daily grind and be the great pretender. I am saying, you need to find the best remedy for yourself. Life is short and if the Mayans are the smartest people on Earth, we will all be gone in 2012. So please, treasure whatever you have right now. Do whatever it takes to have that pinch of hope and dash of hope in your life. One thing I love about UOB is that each time I withdraw money, they will have flash some quote that allow you to ponder about it while waiting for the money. This is one that I really like, though I cannot remember who said it...-scratch head- "Love life and life will love you back" yup. |
